Syllabus

 

Fitness:

This will include press ups, sit ups and star jumps - minimum of 20 repetitions.

Self Defence:

· Three Hook Punch Defences (Left and Right) with Takedown/Control

· Three Straight Punch Defences (Left and Right) with Takedown/Control

· Three Knife Defences (Left and Right)

· Six Defences Against a Wrist Grab (Front, Rear, Double or Single)

· Six Choke Defences (Front or Rear)

· Six Wrist Lock Defences (Inner or Outer)

· Six Kick Defences (Instructor’s Choice)

· Three Methods of Getting Out of  a Neck Lock

 

Breakfalls:

Demonstrate All as Instructed

Demonstrations:

Blocks, parries, kicks and/or punches to be demonstrated in ‘Kiba Dachi’ (Horse Stance) and on the move.

Name and Demonstrate Seven Different Kicks

Name and Demonstrate Seven Different Hand Weapons

Name and Demonstrate Ten Different Blocks and/or Parries

Demonstrate All Fighting Basics (with a partner and alone)

Demonstrate Four Different Blocks with a Staff

Kata:

Two Stance Katas (Instructors Choice)

One Man Touches the 8 Immortal Winds (Karate Style)

Staff Kata

Bassai Dai

All Heian Katas
